After a long and uncertain election season this spring, new West Linn-Wilsonville School Board members took their seats at the board table for the Monday, July 12, meeting. Their families were seated in the audience to show support for the four-year commitment they made.
WL-WV Superintendent Kathy Ludwig swore in the three new board members — Kirsten Wyatt, Louis Taylor and Kelly Sloop. She presented each with a houseplant as a gift and joked that the real task was to keep it alive for their whole term.
During the swearing-in ceremony, new members were asked to agree to support the U.S. Constitution, the Oregon Constitution and the policies of the district. They also swore to faithfully and impartially carry out the responsibilities of a school board member to the best of their abilities.
