With COVID-19 restrictions lifted, the family planned a memorial so students and colleagues could pay tribute.

The family of Rosemont Ridge Middle School math teacher Ben Hsieh, who died unexpectedly of a heart attack last December, will hold a memorial service in his honor.

The service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 31, at Oregon City Evangelical Church, 1024 Linn Ave., Oregon City.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions at the time of his death, the family was unable to hold a memorial service where colleagues, students and families could gather to pay tribute to Hsieh. With restrictions lifted, the family planned the service for later this month.

"The family has so appreciated the love and support they have received over the past few months and wanted to make sure that students and families who wished to attend the service would know the date, time and location," Principal Debi Briggs-Crispin said in a message to the community.
