MORE STORIES

Eighth and ninth graders are invited to learn more about science, technology, engineering, art and math through hands-on activities.

As summer camps swing into high gear, the West Linn High School robotics team is inviting students in the district to learn more about STEM.

2B Determined will host its annual summer camp, Summer of STEAM, from July 25-29 at the high school. The camp is open to incoming eighth and ninth graders interested in learning more about science, technology, engineering, art and math through hands-on activities.

Attendees will have the opportunity to dive into topics including coding, programming, software development and more, as well as art activities. On Friday, July 29, the students and robotics team will head to the Willamette River for a jet boat excursion, which will teach students about mechanics and engineering.

The robotics team also is using the camp as a potential recruitment opportunity, as members hope younger students will join the team once they see how fun and inclusive STEM is.

The camp is open to a family member or friend interested in attending.
