West Linn police chief placed on administrative leave
West Linn Police Chief Terry Timeus has been placed on paid administrative leave as the City investigates allegations of personnel policy violations.
The investigation was initiated by the office of City Manager Eileen Stein. WLPD Captain Neil Hennelly will serve as interim police chief during the investigation.
The City announced the decision in a press release Thursday morning.
"The investigative process will ensure accountability at all levels in the department," the release read. "The West Linn Police Department and the city of West Linn (are) committed to transparency and upon completion of this process will provide more information as to the facts of this personnel issue."
WLPD Sergeant Dave Kempas said the department could not comment any further on the pending investigation, or specify the exact nature of the allegations.
"What's in the press release says it all," Kempas said. "It's nothing criminal, and (the investigation) is going to be handled by someone from the outside so that everything can remain above board."
Timeus has served as police chief since 2005.
