Daniel Cortez, a representative from the American Postal Workers Union, spoke at the rally warning of privitization in the postal industry and the push for it from President Donald Trump. Cortez called the U.S. Postal Service "The people's postal service," in contrast to pivate delivery companies that serve themselves.

USPS delivers everywhere in the United States, unlike private companies, which only go where they can make a profit, he said.

Community memebers in attendance made it clear that they support USPS and believe the West Linn Post Office is a vital part of the community.PMG PHOTO: HOLLY BARTHOLOMEW - A man dressed as Benjamin Franklin treated ralliers to a reading of the history of postal service in America.
