School supply drive equips students with necessities
As local youth head into the 2019-20 school year at the end of this month, so does their school supply list. But not everyone can check off the boxes on what might seem like a never-ending list.
That's why the West Linn Chamber of Commerce has joined the West Linn Police Department, the West Linn Public Library, Bloomin' Boutique, West Linn Starbucks, Willamette Valley Bank and Pacific West Bank in a back-to-school supply drive.
Now through Saturday, Aug. 21, community members can drop off extra items like a 24-pack of crayons, tissues, washable markers, wide-ruled notebooks, hand-held pencil sharpeners and No. 2 pencils at all three West Linn Starbucks locations, the police department, the library or Pacific West and Willamette Valley banks.
For those feeling ambitious this back-to-school season, new backpacks and hoodies in collaboration with the nonprofit organization Bloomin' Boutique are also being accepted at any of the donation boxes.
