Information for the public safety column comes from the public records of the West Linn Police Department. Authorities recently logged the following incidents:

8/8/19 1:36 p.m. A caller in the 3600 block of Mapleton Drive told police that a car had parked in their driveway. Police found the car had mechanical issues and the driver went to pick up parts.

8/8/19 1:42 p.m. A woman requested help from police retrieving her property from a residence in the 1100 block of Douglas Drive. She did not have contact information for the homeowner and no one answered the door.

8/8/19 2:58 p.m. A caller reported that Verizon had told them someone had used their name and Social Security number to open an account.

8/8/19 3:16 p.m. Someone told police a truck was parked over the sidewalk in the 20600 block of Noble Lane. The caller said this was an ongoing issue and it made it particularly difficult for the elderly community to walk on the sidewalk.

8/8/19 4:44 p.m. A woman told police that her former boyfriend had been following her and sending her items.

8/8/19 9:16 p.m. A caller told police about an ongoing issue with a neighbor's loud music. The caller said the past 30 minutes had been particularly bad because the neighbor was playing loud music while working in the garage.

8/8/19 9:30 p.m. Someone told police they were with a 15-year-old girl who had just been kicked out of her house by her mom.

8/9/19 1:10 a.m. A caller told police they were just at the Willamette Falls viewpoint and there were "strange, sketchy" people there in a motorhome.

8/9/19 8:03 a.m. A traffic accident was reported on Willamette Falls Drive.

n 8/9/19 12:41 p.m. Police received a call from someone who said they had just seen a man dumping car parts in the parking lot of Wilderness Park.

8/9/19 1:21 p.m. A caller near Artemis Lane and Athena Road told police that there were many cars parked in the neighborhood. Police found that all the cars belonged to residents in the neighborhood.

8/9/19 4:02 p.m. A man made a traffic complaint about an aggressive driver.

n 8/9/19 5:53 p.m. A caller in the 6200 block of Tack Street told police a truck was revving its engine and took a corner too fast. The caller said the speech of the driver, a high school-aged girl, was odd when they confronted her.

8/9/19 9:35 p.m. A caller told police her son was very drunk and threatening her while punching holes in the wall.

8/10/19 9:05 a.m. Police received a call from a man who was concerned about the wellbeing of his AA sponsor. He said his sponsor wasn't at the meeting and another man at the meeting led him to believe he was carrying a gun in his fanny pack.

8/10/19 10:58 a.m. A caller told police their neighbor had a burn barrel. The caller said she had talked to TVFR about it but, they could not do anything. When police checked on the situation, they found no burn barrel or any evidence of a fire.

8/10/19 3:25 p.m. A woman admitted to Oregon State Police that she cut off another driver when getting on to I-205.

8/11/19 11:09 a.m. Three citizens told police about their concerns about parking violations at Cedar Island Park.

8/11/19 12:29 p.m. A man told police there were two people blocking traffic with stop signs so "church people" could cross Salamo Road.

8/11/19 2:42 p.m. A caller told police that someone had tried to break down their front door in the middle of the night but they weren't able to see anyone out the window.

8/11/19 2:50 p.m. Someone reported that the person against whom they had a restraining order violated that order by contacting them through social media.

8/11/19 4:52 p.m. Police received a call about four teenage boys who threw a sink into the Willamette River.

8/11/19 5:30 p.m. A caller told police a man was going through garbage near McDonalds. They also reported another man was sitting on the steps of the building that used to be Shari's.

8/11/19 7:08 p.m. A man in the 4300 block of Riverview Avenue told police he had a chronic problem with strange cars parking in front of his house.

8/11/19 8:20 p.m. A hit and run was reported on Walnut Street.

8/11/19 9:46 p.m. A caller in the 1300 block of 9th Street told police that someone was running a compressor, turning on a leaf blower and blowing whistles.

8/11/19 11:06 p.m. The caller called back to say that after police left, the man returned and was continuing to blow whistles. Police cited him for unnecessary noise.

8/12/19 5:01 a.m. A post office employee called police and said an unknown person was going through mail at the post office loading dock then took off on foot.

8/12/19 8:32 a.m. Someone talked to police about a custody dispute involving their son.

8/12/19 10:22 a.m. A caller told police they hit a squirrel with their car on Salamo Road and was concerned it was suffering. Police found the squirrel smashed, not suffering.

8/12/19 10:29 a.m. Police received a call from someone in the 1300 block of 9th Street who said their neighbor started using an air presser again at 7 a.m.

8/12/19 11:16 a.m. A caller reported child sex abuse that occurred between 1998 and 2010.

8/12/19 11:33 a.m. Someone told police they were concerned about their mom because she wouldn't pick up the phone. The caller called back and told police their mom was having phone troubles.

8/12/19 12:04 p.m. Police received a call about graffiti on a building in the River Falls Shopping Center.

8/12/19 12:31 p.m. A caller told police two men talked to them in the Safeway parking lot. One of the men reportedly said to the caller, "I'm good now that I see you."

8/12/19 12:49 p.m. Someone reported to police that a Toyota Camry was parked in front of a house on Belmont Wayside, the backdoor of the house was ajar and two dogs were barking. The caller said they did not know who lived there. Police located the homeowner who said everything was fine and the Camry belongs to his brother.

8/12/19 2:02 p.m. A caller reported a large stack of lumber sticking out into traffic on the Abernathy Bridge.

8/12/19 3:30 p.m. Police received reports of someone sending suicidal texts.

8/12/19 5:20 p.m. A three-car accident was reported at Willamette Drive and Arbor Drive.

8/13/19 12:39 p.m. A man told police someone was harassing him and slashed his tires the day previously.

8/13/19 1:36 p.m. A caller on Mohawk Way told police their neighbor's dog was barking at her while she read. The caller said the dog owner came out and yelled that he would prosecute whoever made his dog bark and then turned on loud country music.

8/13/19 3:20 p.m. Someone in the 6200 block of Club House Circle told police a car had been on the street for several days.

8/13/19 6:37 p.m. A caller in the 3000 block of Winkel Way reported that the dirt delivered to their neighbor's house was partially blocking the street. Police thought there was plenty of room for vehicles to move around the small dirt pile.

8/13/19 7:28 p.m. An employee at the Starbucks at West Linn Central Village told police a very drunk man was inside the coffee shop.

8/13/19 7:39 p.m. Someone told police their neighbor's cat appears malnourished and has fleas. The caller also said they heard the neighbor's dog was possibly malnourished.

8/13/19 8:00 p.m. A man reportedly grabbed a woman violently.

8/13/19 8:43 p.m. A caller reported their estranged husband was using violent and vulgar words and they believed he had Alzheimer's. They said they would go to a different room to stay separated.

8/13/19 8:49 p.m. Someone told police their 16-year-old daughter was having a tirade and threw a golf ball at the caller's wife.

8/14/19 8:07 a.m. A caller in the 21500 block of Ridgebrook Drive told police their neighbor's dog barks all day and said that since they brought this up to the neighbor, the neighbor stands outside and yells at the dog for barking.

8/14/19 10:29 a.m. A caller reported to police that their brother was missing and mentioned Clackamas County Sherriff's Office might have a warrant out for him.

8/14/19 11:56 a.m. Someone asked police to look at a bone they believed to be from a human near Vlopp and 10th streets. Police found it was not a human bone.

8/14/19 11:58 a.m. Police received a call from the 5800 block of West A Street about a strong smell that could either be a skunk or marijuana.

8/14/19 12:39 p.m. A man told police that funny things were going on around his house and suspected someone was tampering with his vehicle and computer. Police told him to check into reasonable explanations for his concerns and call back.

8/14/19 2:37 p.m. A caller near Horton Road and Chickadee Court told police that their neighbor's Volkswagen Golf has a loud muffler and he often drives it very fast. The caller said when she asked him to slow down, he flipped her off.

8/14/19 5:29 p.m. Someone requested police check on their friend who wasn't responding to texts messages or emails.

8/14/19 5:37 p.m. Police received a call about a couple arguing in Safeway, saying it looked like the man was rushing the woman. The caller called it "textbook abuse."

8/14/19 8:15 p.m. Police received a call about a hit and run in the 2000 block of 8th Avenue.

8/14/19 11:41 p.m. A caller told police a man was accosting two people and had almost hit them.

8/15/19 10:45 a.m. A man in the 18700 block of Trillium Drive told police he was trimming branches of a tree at his aunt's house and a neighbor got angry that he cut a limb of another tree that was hanging onto his aunt's property.

8/15/19 11:34 a.m. Someone called police about a custodial interference. The caller said that his kids were living with their mother and another man, who had been telling the kids when they could see their father.

8/15/19 11:37 a.m. A caller reported to police that they suspected their father was the victim of a scam, saying he was missing $30,000 and had recently become close with another woman in his wife's memory care unit.

8/15/19 12:12 p.m. Police received a call from someone in the 1300 block of 4th Street who said a man and woman had been staying outside the location and were "half-yelling" at each other.

8/15/19 2:00 p.m. An accident was reported at Willamette Falls and Willamette drives.

8/15/19 2:34 p.m. Someone at Mary S. Young Park reported to police a man was stumbling along the beach and making them uncomfortable. The caller suspected he was smoking weed and possibly on other drugs.

8/15/19 4:02 p.m. A caller told police their 16-year-old daughter was breaking things and yelling.

8/15/19 4:46 p.m. Police received a call about an abandoned bicycle.

8/15/19 4:57 p.m. A caller reported a hit and run that occurred the previous Sunday.

8/15/19 5:44 p.m. A caller near Willamette Drive and Caufield told police a suspicious man was kicking garbage cans and hitting signs.

8/15/19 5:45 p.m. Someone told police that they suspected their son's father would not bring him home Tuesday as he is supposed to per a court order.

8/15/19 7:17 p.m. Police received a complaint about barking dogs in the 2700 block of Rainier Place.

8/15/19 8:14 p.m. A caller told police a man, who was breathing and did not appear to be in distress, was sitting on the sidewalk near Apollo Road and Summit Street.

8/15/19 8:19 p.m. Someone reported hearing two gunshots.

8/16/19 12:32 a.m. A caller told police their car was damaged from running over a large rock. The caller suspected someone intentionally put the rock in the middle of the street.

8/16/19 6:43 a.m. Someone in the 2300 block of Oxford Street told police that a man was riding a bike and looking at yards in the neighborhood.

8/16/19 7:52 a.m. A caller in the 2000 block of Conestoga Lane said that their doorbell camera revealed a person came to their door in the early morning and left without taking anything or causing any damage.

8/16/19 8:03 a.m. Vandalism at Willamette Park was reported.

8/16/19 9:05 a.m. Police received a call from someone who said they received bills for a Sprint account they do not have.

8/16/19 9:21 a.m. A caller requested police check on an 83-year-old woman who they were unable to reach by phone. The woman answered the door when police went to check and she was alright.

8/16/19 9:52 a.m. Someone on Parker Road told police that a man was pacing near a wall and thought he may be vandalizing something.

8/16/19 10:11 a.m. Police received a call from someone who said they found a dog with no collar in their backyard.

8/16/19 2:58 p.m. A caller told police that a driver showed signs of road rage toward their daughter three days previously.

8/16/19 4:44 p.m. Someone told police that their son saw a 5-year-old child walking alone on Salamo Road about five minutes previously. Police found the boy had been separated from his grandfather but they were together again.

8/16/19 5:10 p.m. A caller in the 2200 block of 5th Avenue told police their neighbor violated their no trespassing order by turning around in the caller's driveway.

8/16/19 5:32 p.m. Police received a call from someone who said they were being followed by another driver. The caller said the other driver drove off when they told them they were going to call the police. When police ran the license plate of the vehicle that had followed the caller, they found it belonged to someone who lived five houses down the street.

8/16/19 9:20 p.m. A woman was reportedly walking in traffic on Petes Mountain Road but police could not locate her.

8/16/19 9:27 p.m. A caller told police that they saw someone sitting on the Arch Bridge holding flowers. Police found the person who was eating dinner with a view of the river.

8/17/19 5:11 a.m. A woman told police a man was looking in cars on Debok Road while walking around the neighborhood. Police found the man was out for his morning exercise.

8/17/19 9:52 a.m. A caller told police that their tires were slashed and blew out on the freeway, adding that there is a history of tire slashing in the area.

8/17/19 12:42 p.m. Someone in the 5700 block of Terrace Drive told police a pickup truck was blocking their driveway but police found the truck was not blocking the driveway.

8/17/19 1:09 p.m. Police received a call from someone who was concerned that their neighbor's dog was being neglected because they often saw it tied to a car in the front yard. Police found the dog was on a 20-30 ft. leash and had food and water.

8/17/19 3:27 p.m. A caller reported about 20 juveniles smoking marijuana and drinking on Parker Road. Police found no evidence of this.

8/17/19 4:41 p.m. A woman told police that someone was threatening to post pictures of her on sex-for-hire websites if she did not do sexual favors for them.

8/17/19 4:53 p.m. Police received a call from someone in the 2000 block of Maple Terrace who said a drunk man with a dog was on their back deck 10 minutes ago. The man apparently was looking for his friend and heading to the river.

8/17/19 7:38 p.m. A man in the 4400 block of Calaroga Drive told police a live band was playing very loudly.

8/17/19 7:53 p.m. A caller informed police that a man and woman were taking dirt from the Marylhurst School construction site on Old River Road. Police located the people who found they live down the road and have permission to take the dirt.

8/18/19 12:16 p.m. A caller complained about cars parked in the boat trailer parking section at Willamette Park.

8/18/19 3:43 p.m. Someone told police that two kids were pulling signs from a gated area and skateboarding. Police located the kids who said the sign was already out of the ground. Police told them to return it and skate somewhere else, which they did.

8/18/19 6:26 p.m. A caller on Willamette Falls Drive told police that they saw two West Linn Police officers jaywalk and get into a WLPD truck.

8/18/19 8:43 p.m. A woman told police that her 25-year-old daughter stabbed her with a fork and pushed her up against a stove.

8/18/19 8:58 p.m. A caller told police a large group of juveniles was in Marylhurst Park. Police found no one there.

8/18/19 11:29 p.m. Police received a call from someone in the 6200 block of Elliott Street who said they heard a shotgun type blast followed by a man's voice yelling, "Hey, hey."
