The leaders came as part of a delegation of the Anerican Council of Young Political Leaders

COURTESY PHOTO - Mayor Russ Axelrod, Councilor Jules Walters and former councilor Jenni Tan met with leaders from China visiting as part of a delegation for the American Council of Young Political LeadersWest Linn Mayor Russ Axelrod, City Councilor Jules Walters and former councilor Jenni Tan broke bread with several political leaders from China Nov. 6 as part of a tour of the Chinese delegation of the American Council of Young Political Leaders (an international exchange program for political leaders).

Over two weeks, the delegates visited Washington D.C., Minnesota and Oregon. While in Oregon, they met with various government, education and business leaders and experienced a bit of life and culture in the Portland Metro area.

Delegates who visited include: Chen Yang, general manager of Jiangsu Phonological Culture Industry; Shuwen Diao, the leader of three foundations within the Asia Region of the World Economic Forum; Wang Yi Honorary, the president of the Henan Provincial Youth Federation; Wei Li, a professor at the School of International Studies Renmin University of China; Yuan Li, the international director for Chinese Young Volunteers Association; Zhang Yi, the director of the Bureau of Foreign Affairs Coordination in the International Liaison Department of the Communist Party of China; Zhao Chang, the founder and CEO of Remakehub, an organization which converts trash into renewable materials.
