Learn about log rafting, Chinese exclusion, the Capen Shoe Factory in Willamette and more

The next iteration of Ignite West Linn: History on Fire will take place at 2 p.m., Jan. 26.

Twice a year, the West Linn Historical Society hosts 5-minute presentations with images and stories about local, regional, national and world history.

Topics for the 5-minute presentations include the state of the West Linn Historical Society, the 1886 expulsion of Chinese from the region, log rafts on the Willamette, West Linn's Capen Shoe Factory and the history of gaming.

Ignite West Linn takes place at the Willamette Ale & Cider House, 1720 Willamette Falls Drive. The West Linn Historical Society's annual meeting will follow immediately after the Ignite Talk, at which time the new board of directors will be elected.

Food and both alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks will be available for purchase.
