Historical Society celebrates 100th anniversary of 19th amendment ratification

PHOTO BY JAIME VALDEZ - Susan B. Anthony and female activists' stories were featured in suffragette displays at Fields Bridge Park. The West Linn Historical Society has honored the female pioneers who fought for women's suffrage with displays of the suffragettes in West Linn Parks.

The celebration marks the 100th anniversary of the passage of the 19th amendment to the Constitution on Aug. 18, 1920, which secured the right to vote for most women in the United States.

The displays of several famous suffragettes could be found in several West Linn parks over the past few weeks.
