City Council will hold an executive session after meeting with John Williams and Jerry Gabrielatos.

PMG FILE PHOTO - The West Linn City Council has narrowed its search for the next city manager. After a June 30 virtual interview between the top three candidates, city staff and community members, the West Linn City Council has narrowed its field of candidates down to Jerry Gabrielatos and John Williams.

The city recently notified the third candidate, Jim Midaugh, of Metro that he is no longer in the running.

Following the virtual meeting, citizens and staff submitted input to the council on their thoughts about each candidate. Pamplin Media Group submitted a records request for the feedback, which has not been fulfilled.

According to a July 16 news release, the City Council will meet with Williams and Gabrielatos this week, then hold an executive session to discuss next steps.

Gabrielatos currently is the assistant city manager of Albert Lea, Minnesota. Williams has served as West Linn's community development director for three years, and eventually came to serve as deputy city manager as well. Since the firing of former City Manager Eileen Stein in January, Williams has served as interim city manager.
