Voter turnout in Clackamas County for the 2020 general election is massively outpacing the previous two general elections in 2018 and 2016.

Turnout data provided by the Clackamas County Clerk's Office shows that 22% more voters have cast a ballot this year than in by the same point in 2018, and 18% more than the last presidential election in 2016.

As of the end of Wednesday, Oct. 21, 93,076 voters had returned their ballots, or 30% of the 308,176 eligible voters within the county.

"We are up 47,213 voters from four years ago," said Sherry Hall, county clerk. "They are voting early and we're loving that."FILE PHOTO - Clackamas County Clerk Sherry Hall

According to Hall, her office is bustling with activity, including issuing new ballots for those who have either had them accidentally destroyed or a mistake was made on their registration such as a wrong address. Hall said around 3,900 ballots were found to have some sort of mistake, but her office has already reissued more than a quarter of those and will rectify the rest in the coming few days.

Voters can track their ballot using the Oregon Secretary of State's website to ensure that the county election's division has received it.

Hall encourages anyone who has questions or concerns over their ballot to reach out to the county election's division by calling 503-655-8510 or emailing their inquiry to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
