Photos: Ice gone, 'unprecedented damage' remains
The snow and ice may be mostly gone, but they've left behind a mess of downed trees and power lines.
The city of West Linn advised Wednesday afternoon, Feb. 17, that the storm caused "unprecedented damage" throughout the city. Tree limbs are expected to continue falling over the next couple of days, the city stated.
"City staff are working as quickly and safely as possible to clean debris and fallen trees from public right of ways," the city noted in an email to residents. "Due to the widespread impact of damage, we ask for your patience as it will likely take staff an extensive amount of time to clean up and repair damages."
All city parks are closed until staff can trim remaining limbs and clear debris.
The city asked residents to place debris from their yards on the curb. Crews will make their way through town to pick up debris piled by citizens, according to the email.
