West Linn High School reports confirmed COVID-19 case
Principal Gregory Neuman alerted the West Linn High School community Wednesday, March 31, that a positive COVID-19 case has been reported at the school.
"We understand that this raises responses of concern and care," Neuman wrote. "We are working closely with Clackamas County Public Health to respond to this news following Oregon Health Authority guidelines to protect the health of our community and the privacy of the individual."
The district nursing team is using contact tracing to call any individuals who may have been exposed. Neuman wrote that if you don't receive a call, you can assume you were not exposed to the virus.
Neuman wrote the individual was last in the school building March 25.
"As in all COVID-19 situations, we have carefully reviewed the particular circumstances in terms of risk reduction, including reviewing any potential additional cleaning needs or other restrictions," he said.
He encouraged the school community to maintain good hygiene habits like washing hands, keeping distant and wearing masks to reduce the spread of COVID-19.
The school day is scheduled to continue as planned.
