The city of West Linn has combined its 20th annual holiday tree lighting with the Old Time Fair ambassador coronation ceremony.

The coronation usually takes place on the first evening of the fair, but as this year's fair was canceled because of the coronavirus, the city found another festive occasion for the ceremony. In a first for the West Linn Old Time Fair Ambassador Court, St. Nick himself will crown this year's queen.

The coronation ceremony will begin at 5 p.m. at West Linn City Hall, 22500 Salamo Road. The tree lighting will follow at 6 p.m. After the ceremony, attendees are invited to visit the royal court in their winter wonderland and stop by Santa's workshop for a photo and treat from Mrs. Claus.

The festive evening will finish with caroling.
