Candidates' applications are being accepted until Sept. 6 for two open seats.

PMG FILE PHOTO - Two West Linn City Council positions are up for election in November. The city of West Linn is now accepting candidate filings from residents interested in serving on the West Linn City Council.

Two of the council's five positions are up for election in November. Those seats are currently held by Bill Relyea and Todd Jones.

Councilors elected on Nov. 8 will serve for four years beginning in January 2023.

To run, those seeking to serve on the council must submit a candidacy filing form, found here, to West Linn's elections officer, City Recorder Kathy Mollusky, by 5 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 6.

West Linn does not require a filing fee or signature collections to run for council.

Candidates must be registered to vote and have lived in West Linn for at least one year prior to the election date.

With the departure of City Manager Jerry Gabrielatos later this summer, two open council positions and the possibility of Mayor Jules Walters leaving City Hall to serve in the Oregon Legislature, West Linn's leadership could be transformed in 2023.
