West Linn Police should be held accountable
I am the former Deputy Appellate Defender for the State of Michigan, as well as the State of California. I am presently a resident of West Linn, Oregon and a well published writer of legal matters.
Clackamas County Prosecutor Chris Owen has made findings that ex-West Linn Police Chief, Timeus, and cop, Tony Reeves, were corrupt cops.
By my count, these corrupt cops committed multiple obvious felonies, including: second degree kidnapping, theft, assault, making a false police report, witness intimidation, obstruction of justice, false arrest, destruction of evidence and hate crime.
Why have they not been arrested and jailed?
As well, should present West Linn Police Chief, Kruger, who is on desk leave, be investigated for murder because he shot Deontae Keller in the back? Although the case was investigated, I'm not aware of any instance where a police officer was charged with murder in 1995. There is no statute of limitations for murder, so Kruger could be charged today when we have become more aware of wrongful police behavior.
Time for prosecution to take action against corrupt cops and present moral leadership.
