West Linn eighth-grade football finishes perfect season
There was nothing, it turned out, that could stop the West Linn eighth-grade varsity football team.
West Linn finished its 2019 season with a perfect 10-0 record that included 368 points scored and only 36 points allowed. Further, the young Lions snapped Jefferson's 29-game winning streak and featured 17 different players who scored touchdowns this season.
"This group of athletes is one of the most talented groups of kids West Linn has seen," said West Linn coach Joe Donnerberg.
This year's team included: Charlie Spinning, Max Juhala, Birhanu Forster, Gus Donnerberg, Nick Sakys, Gage Hurych, Caden McDonald, Peyton Moussavi, Mitchell Rowe, Jake Malvar, Brady Manselle, Wiley Donnerberg, Ryan VandenBrink, Gabe Howard, Hudson Reink, Cade Johnson, Hunter Haines, Jack Benninger, Evan Davis, Andrew Rodriguez, Ridge Huot, Ryan Warren, Lawrence Dumas, Hunter Harding, Brock Donaldson and Koa Murray.
The team was coached by Tim Bell, Devarieous Sly-Clay, Joe Donnerberg, Weston Groth, Brion Benninger, Caesar Malvar, Mike Franklin and Shahram Moussavi.
