Lakeridge's girls finish 10th at Emerald Valley, while Nelson's girls grab 12th.

The West Linn, Lake Oswego and Lakeridge girls golf teams proved as much at the Class 6A state tournament, held on Monday and Tuesday, May 16-17, at Emerald Valley Golf Club in Creswell. The Lions, after finishing second in the TRL, placed third at state. TRL champion Lake Oswego finished fourth and Lakeridge took 10th. Nelson's girls team, in its first state tournament, finished 12th in the field.

The complete team scoring included: Jesuit 322-327—649, Mountainside 315-348—663, West Linn 331-334—665, Lake Oswego 334-346—680, Westview 354-327—681, Summit 354-350—704, Grants Pass 349-360—709, Ida B. Wells 362-359—721, Sunset 372-372—744, Lakeridge 386-386—772, Sheldon 387-394—781, Adrienne C. Nelson 388-401—789 and Sherwood 413-392—805.

The Lions were led again at state by Three Rivers League medalist Bayler Brundage and fellow senior Kylie Zeman. Brundage shot 75-76—151 to place eighth overall in the field of 89, while Zeman tied for 15th at 79-80—159.

"I am pretty happy with my state performance and I'm glad to have ended on a good note," Brundage said.

"It was a lot of fun. I met some great people and overall, I am very happy with how I played," Zeman said.

The Lions also saw freshman Anni Hansen Neff tie for 34th at 87-88—175, junior Josie McLaughlin tie for 47th at 97-90—187 and freshman Megan Strobbe tie for 49th at 90-98—188.

"My team really played great both days and we are super happy (with) our third-place finish," Brundage said. "We worked hard all season and it was nice to see it pay off."

"All of the hard work that we put in over the season paid off and it showed at state," Zeman added. "We ended up in third place, which we were all very happy with. We had a lot of fun together and played well, and that's really all that matters."

For Lake Oswego, junior Cierra Ferguson led the way after tying for 19th after shooting 81-83—164; she was followed by senior Sophie McCoy (tied for 28th at 84-89—173), junior Berkeley Ward (tied for 30th at 84-90—174), freshman Olivia Mygrant (tied for 30th at 90-84—174) and freshman Ansley Kang (tied for 34th at 85-90—175).

For the Pacers, freshman Jiyoon Pak tied for 24th at 90-79—169. Also scoring for Lakeridge were: sophomore Amalie Odegaard (tied for 54th at 95-99—194), junior Vega Baker (61st at 98-100—198), senior Sydney Blem (tied for 70th at 106-108—214) and junior Julia Weidlich (tied for 72nd at 103-112—215).

Nelson's girls, meanwhile, were led by junior Emily Lackershire — she was the Mt. Hood Conference medalist — and her 10th-place finish at 75-80—155. The rest of the Hawks' lineup included: sophomore Anika Long (52nd at 90-101—191), sophomore Alyssa Gibbons (tied for 72nd at 105-110—215), senior Ellie Wallace (tied for 76th at 118-110—228) and junior Jaden Andrews and sophomore Kim Nguyen (82nd at 125-122—247).
