I'm often asked questions about when to get scheduled car maintenance. This can be a tricky question because different parts of the car have different maintenance schedules which are set by the manufacturer, also the warranty can be dependent upon having those service conditions met.
Keep this cutout handy to schedule your next maintenance appointment and to check/service these parts.
Monthly: lights, tire inflation, tread and general condition, engine oil and windshield washer fluid
Every 3,000 miles/3 months: automatic transmission fluid, battery and cables, belts, brake fluid, engine oil and filter, fuel filter, hoses, lights, power steering fluid
Every 6,000 miles/6 months: chassis lubrication, engine air filter, exhaust, wiper blades
Every 12,000 miles/12 months: brakes, cabin air filter, coolant, steering and suspension
Of course, if you hear unusual noises, feel vibrations, steering anomalies or even new smells from your car, it's best to have a diagnostics inspection to find out any potential problems. Catching it early can save you money.
You can keep a small notebook in the glove box or use an app to help remind you of these important milestones. Better yet, let us keep track for you with our automated reminder system. Keeping track of basic maintenance and repairs will give you a better understanding of your car's overall health and performance record.
