According to the city, a total of 180 single-family dwelling permits with a valuation of $42.8 million were issued in 2013, representing a doubling of the average amount per year over the past 10 years. The year 2013 was the greatest for new home construction since prior to the Great Recession, when 146 permits were issued with a valuation of $36.1 million in 2006.

Other 2013 building permit data recorded by the city shows that no new multifamily residential permits were issued; one permit for new commercial/industrial construction valued at $4.8 million for the Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue operations center and fire station; and 290 permits with a valuation of $28.5 million were issued for commercial/industrial/multifamily alterations or improvements to existing buildings.

“Wilsonville continues strong growth and is providing housing for our growing workforce and residential base,” Wilsonville Mayor Tim Knapp said. “The data also shows that Wilsonville is responsive to the demands of market conditions, providing a variety of housing options as the economy and buyers’ preferences change over time and encouraging improvements to existing buildings.”
