by: COURTESY OF MCSO - Brandon Richard Cullen of Wilsonville faces felony assault charges in connection with Saturday morning's stabbings on Government Island.Three people were stabbed early Saturday morning after a large party on Government Island got out of hand.

Multnomah County sheriff’s River Patrol deputies reported that one of the three stabbing victims was seriously injured. The other two were listed in stable condition at Legacy Emanuel Medical Center.

A 36-year-old Wilsonville man was taken into custody in connection with the stabbings. Brandon Richard Cullen faces three counts of first-degree felony assault. He was lodged in Multnomah County Jail on $750,000 bail.Deputies have not released the names of the victims or the suspect in the incident.

According to deputies, at about 1:45 a.m. July 5, a fight broke out at a party on the island in the Columbia River, where an estimated 1,000 people were gathered around a stage that included a DJ for entertainment. The three men apparently were stabbed during a melee.

Medical crews and police officers from the Sheriff's River Patrol, the Portland Police Bureau, Gresham Police Department, Troutdale Police Department, Portland Fire and Rescue, the Vancouver Fire Department and Fairview Police Department responded to break up the party and transport the victims off the island.
