Wilsonville First Citizens nominees announced, special 'Sweethearts Meal' coming up and Town Center open house scheduled

Valentines Day meal at the Community Center

Wilsonville Community Center is offering a "Sweethearts Meal" 12-1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 14. Though the meal is free, donations are encouraged but not required. The meal will include roast beef, potatoes and gravy, butternut squash and "chocolate surprise."

The Center's nutrition program provides lunches every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. For more information, call 503-682-3727.

Finalists for First Citizen award selected

Angie Gibson, Kathy Johnson, Jordan Scoggins and Sue Woebkenberg were selected as finalists for the 2017 Wilsonville First Citizen award. The winner will be announced at the 2018 Heart of Gold Dinner and Auction March 3 at Wilsonville Holiday Inn, 25425 S.W. 95th Ave.

Gibson is a volunteer for Boy Scouts, Wood Middle School and Wilsonville High School; Johnson is a volunteer for Relay for Life and the Wilsonville Library; Scoggins is a wellness instructor and founder and advisor for the Jr. Scoop Student Activity Club; and Woebkenberg is a longtime volunteer for the AARP tax program.

Proceeds from the Heart of Gold event go toward Wilsonville Rotary Foundation projects.

Open House for Wilsonville Town Center plan

The City of Wilsonville will host an open house to seek feedback for a community design concept of potential changes to Wilsonville Town Center 5:30-8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 8 at Wilsonville City Hall, 29799 S.W. Town Center Loop East.

Hard copies of the community design concept are available at City Hall and the Wilsonville Library, 8200 S.W. Wilsonville Road.
