Performers bring the sounds of the European Renaissance to the library's Book Notes concert series

SPOKESMAN PHOTOS: VERN UYETAKE - Phil Neuman plays the recorder during SPhil Neuman plays the recorder during Saturdays performance by the De Organographia Quartetaturdays performance by the De Organographia QuartetWilsonville Public Library hosted its Book Notes concert series April 14, this time featuring music historians and performers Phil and Gayle Neuman.

The pair are members of The Trail Band, an ensemble that specializes in traditional Americana music, but are also known for their expertise in ancient music forms from Greece and the Renaissance era. The Neumans performed with Polly Gibson and Laura Kuhlman as Ars Nova: Ensemble De Organographia at the Wilsonville concert.

Gail Neuman plays the Vielle, a stringed instrument from the the Medieval period.

Polly Gibson play a song on the Vielle.

Laura Kuhlman adds her instrumentals to the performance.
