Block party, Movies in the Park, wellness fair coming soon
The City of Wilsonville will host the second annual Community Block Party Wednesday, Aug. 22 from 5-8 p.m. at Town Center Park. The evening will feature a performance by singer Nate Botsford, food trucks, train rides, games, a birthday cake and more.
Wilsonville's Movies in the Park series at Memorial Park and include showings of "A Dog's Purpose" July 13, "Coco" July 27, "Early Man" Aug. 10 and "Beauty and the Beast" Aug. 24.
Also, the Wilsonville Wellness Fair will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, July 14 at Town Center Park. The event will feature live performances, domonstrations and giveaways and representatives of over 40 local businesses specializing in health will be there to talk with attendees. A bike rodeo, helmet decorating station and CPR training will also be available.
Boones Ale Fest returns
Mark your calendars! McMenamins is planning an Autumn Ale Fest at Wilsonville's Old Church Brewery Nov. 3. This event brings together local brewers of all backgrounds and skill levels to showcase their finest fall ales and ciders in a friendly competition known as the "War of the Oar."
Attendees can sample competing craft ales and put their taste buds to the test to hand-select the winning brewer who not only receives bragging rights but also an engraving on the famed Boone's Ferryman wood oar trophy. More information to come.
SMART conducting survey for how to prioritize projects
South Metro Area Regional Transit is seeking community input on how to prioritize future projects and is conducting an online survey at ridesmart.com/surveyTMPupdate. The survey ends June 30. Potential projects include extending weekend services, expanding fare-free services to include out-of-town routes and adding services to other communities.
