In August the City of Wilsonville is celebrating its 50th anniversary with a citywide 'block party' in Town Center Park. We're joining the fun with a series of photographic evidence of just how far the city has come since 1846. To find out more about Wilsonville's history go to or visit the Heritage section in the Wilsonville Library.

PHOTO COURTESY WILSONVILLE-BOONES FERRY HISTORICAL SOCIETY - Back in 1960 the Thunderbird Mobile Court was a brand new addition to the Boeckman Road/Interstate 5 interchange area of Wilsonville. Before the decade was done residents in the area would incorporate their little town of Wilsonville to keep the county from allowing them to be overrun with trailer parks and other unwanted development.

SPOKESMAN PHOTO: ALVARO FONTAN - Today, the same interchange is smack in the middle of a very busy town and while its no longer a trailer park, the site is filled primarily with multi-family housing. The farm fields to the east, however, remain unchanged.
