Two seats are up for grabs and in this at-large election, the top two vote-getters will serve on the council

Three candidates have gathered the signatures and filed the required paperwork to officially join the race for the Wilsonville City Council, each aiming for one of two open seats on the November 2018 ballot.

Councilors Scott Starr and Charlotte Lehan currently hold the spots that will be up for grabs in the general election. While Lehan has stated publicly she will run again she has not officially filed.

Challengers include Ben West, a registered nurse who ran a write-in campaign for the mayoral race in 2016; retired veteran John Budiao and David Davis, also a veteran who works for the Department of Veterans Affairs.

Prospective candidates have until Aug. 28 to file.

Council seats in Wilsonville are nonpartisan and elected at large; candidates must have 12 months residency in Wilsonville and obtain signatures from 20 registered Wilsonville voters on a petition.
