Red Cross in urgent need of Type O blood
The American Red Cross is soliciting blood donations, particularly from individuals with Type O blood.
Those who donate by March 17 will be entered for a chance to win one of five trips to the Season 8 world premiere of "Game of Thrones." The trip includes travel for two, up to two nights hotel accommodations and a $250 gift card for expenses.
Additionally, those who donate March 7-12 also will receive exclusive "Game of Thrones" swag including a T-shirt, stickers to unlock a unique Snapchat filter and other items, while supplies last. Make an appointment by visiting RedCrossBlood.org or calling 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767).
Local collections will be taken 9 a.m.-3 p.m. March 21 at Wilsonville City Hall, 29799 S.W. Town Center Loop East; 1-6 p.m. March 22 at Fred Meyer, 30300 S.W. Boones Ferry Road; 1-6:30 p.m. March 27 at St. Cyril Catholic Church, 9210 S.W. Fifth St.; 11:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. March 29 at Safeway, 8255 S.W. Wilsonville Road.
Experts to offer tips at wildlife garden session
The City of Wilsonville will host a two-hour session with local gardening experts March 9 to provide an opportunity for people to learn valuable habitat-building tips to begin creating their own pollinator and wildlife gardens.
Attendees can take home a native plant and learn more about habitat development from representatives of the Backyard Habitat Certification Program and Xerces Society. The workshop is from 10:30-12:30 p.m. in the Oak Room, Wilsonville Public Library, 8200 S.W. Wilsonville Road.
Serve on college budget committee
Clackamas Community College seeks a citizen from the West Linn-Wilsonville area for its budget committee. The panel meets each spring to deliberate on the proposed budget before sending it to the CCC Board of Education for final approval. Additional meetings may be scheduled as needed.
Town Center revamp revealed
The City of Wilsonville will hold a showcase for the plan to remake Town Center into a more vibrant area of the community from 5-6 p.m. March 13 at Wilsonville City Hall.
Talk to the project team, enjoy light refreshments and view a gallery of images from public outreach events that informed this critical plan, which guides strategic long-term development of a vibrant mixed-use neighborhood in the heart of Wilsonville. Guests are invited to stay for the Planning Commission meeting to learn more.
