West Linn-Wilsonville has some amazing youth
The Spokesman news staff is pleased to announce the two extraordinary young citizens selected as the 2019 Amazing Kids.
Two local students are among 27 youths honored in a special publication in all Pamplin Media Group newspapers this week.
A gala event on Monday, April 29, at OMSI in Portland, recognized these youths for their accomplishments and highlight why they are, indeed, Amazing Kids.
Pamplin Media Group owner Robert B. Pamplin Jr. will be the keynote speaker.
Here's a preview of the Amazing Kid representing Wilsonville.
Spina bifida may have confined Wilsonville High School senior Kayla Bolnick to a wheelchair, but nothing has restrained her love of sports or helping others.
Kayla competes on three of the school's sports teams and works with other kids with disabilities to realize their athletic dreams.
She was instrumental in persuading the district to modify the high school's bleachers so sports fans in wheelchairs can better enjoy games.
Kayla's perseverance aided her earning honor roll academic status and national awards for challenged athletes.
