WILSONVILLE SPOKESMAN - Three-screen movie theater officially opens in Wilsonville in 1985.

Grand Park Cinemas, a new three-screen movie theater, had its grand opening. Although the interior had not yet been finished, the establishment was opened for business.

The complex, located at 25937 SW Parkway Ave. in Wilsonville, featured three theaters, two with 400 seats and one with 650. Grand Park Cinemas opened business by screening "Rambo" featuring Sylvester Stallone and "Fletch" starring Chevy Chase.

During the grand opening ceremony, Wilsonville Mayor Gregg Meyer cut the ribbon and presented Moyer Theaters, the owners of Grand Park Cinemas, with an official framed resolution by the Wilsonville City Council welcoming them to Wilsonville. Grand Park Cinemas would continue to undergo staff training, and expected the interior construction to be finished by the end of the week.
