CITY COUNCIL — Wilsonville City Council meetings are open to the public, with a work session beginning at 5 p.m. and a regular meeting at 7 p.m. Find agenda items at ci.wilsonville.or.us. City Halll, 29799 S.W. Town Center Loop.
FIRST FRIDAY FILMS — Bring the family to a free movie showing at Wilsonville Library. Bring your own snacks or try the selection available for donation. This month's film is "Poms," about a group of women in a retirement community who form a cheerleading squad. Show starts at 6 p.m., 8200 S.W. Wilsonville Road.
THEATER — Portland native Lauren Steele performs a one-woman show, "Queens Girl in the World," at Clackamas Repertory Theatre from Sept. 5-29. A coming-of-age story about a young black girl in the 1960s, it follows Jacqueline Marie Butler as she moves to a new school in Greenwich Village, where she is one of only four black students, and race suddenly matters. SCOUTING — Girl Scout Service Unit 9 (West Linn, Wilsonville, Lake Oswego area) is offering a free drop-in Back to Scouting event from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 8. It will be held at Tualatin Community Park. All girls get a free patch for attending. They will get to do activities like crafts, sing songs, meet current Girl Scouts and complete steps to earn badges. All incoming kindergarteners to high school seniors are welcome.
FARM DINNER — Friends of Luscher Farm will hold an event with local wine and beer, dinner, dancing and an opportunity to tour the historic farm property Sept. 7. Twilight on the Farm will provide support for Friends of Luscher Farm, which promotes numerous programs and activities, including the Luscher School to Farm Internship, Children's Garden, community-supported agriculture (CSA), habitat restoration and fundraising for infrastructure development. COFFEE CREEK — The Coffee Creek Correctional Facility Prison Advisory Committee (PAC) will hold a public meeting at 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 3, in the Oak Room of the Wilsonville Library. Agenda items include departmental updates by the superintendent and executive management team.
The purpose of the PAC is to serve as a citizen advisory group to the facility regarding correctional issues, activities and practices affecting the community. The PAC also serves as a conduit for information disseminated to and received from the public. At the conclusion of the meeting there will be a public comment period.
