Drive-thru event will allow attendees to visit animals at the Wilsonville farm while remaining in their cars

Frog Pond Farm, which has been closed for months due to restrictions to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus, is hosting a drive-thru Memorial Day event.

At the Safari Farm Tour, which will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, May 25, attendees can drive around the farm visiting animals like cows, donkeys, camels, llamas, emus, horses and goats.

Frog Pond Farm Owner Justin Timm said there would be at least 90 animals available, some of which come from other farms. Admission costs $12 and free donuts and popcorn will be available.

"We're partnering with a number of farming friends to bring in supplementary animals at the farm for folks to see, enjoy and get out of their mundane routines they may be in, not being able to get out on a regular basis," Timm said.

Timm added that the event will adhere to social distancing protocols.

"They (attendees) have to remain in their cars the entire time," Timm said.

Timm previously told the Spokesman that he would likely host community events like this to make up for revenue lost over the last couple months.

"This is certainly not how we envisioned this farm being open to the public but for public safety purposes being able to do a drive-thru display of our animals versus a walkthrough display of our animals, this is what we're able to offer at this point in time," Timm said.
