Columbia Distributing is slated to move into a new 77,000-square-foot facility in Wilsonville next Monday, Oct. 5. The company is the biggest distributor of beer, wine and spirits in the Pacific Northwest, according to Communications Director Lindsi Taylor. They also are a major distributor of non-alcoholic products like Red Bull.

Columbia Distributing is moving its operations from multiple locations in Portland to Wilsonville and Canby. The space is located on Parkway Avenue and was formerly occupied by DW Fritz, according to the Wilsonville government.

"We have been in three separate warehouses in Portland for the better part of 80-plus years," said Taylor. "We're bursting at the seams for people and products. We wanted to consolidate our group at one location in Wilsonville."

The Wilsonville location will house about 250 employees, including the sales team, human resources, information technology and other staff while the Canby location will include about 300 employees conducting warehouse operations. Taylor said the company has delivered to over 5,000 customers in 2020 and projects to distribute over 22 million cases of product out of the Canby location in 2021.

Taylor said only essential personnel will use the Wilsonville facility until the COVID-19 crisis subsides.

"We're all getting very excited to move into this brand-new building and we can't. We continue to meet over Zoom calls. We might do a few small tours of the building to keep the momentum up," she said.

Columbia distributes Miller and Coors products as well as smaller brands like Deschutes Brewery, Culmination Brewing and 2 Towns Ciderhouse.
