The city encourages the community to collect leaves and dispose of them at event

PMG FILE PHOTO - The Wilsonville government is hosting a Leaf Drop-Off Day in November.

In conjunction with Republic Services, the Wilsonville government is inviting the community to drop off leaves at the city parking lot from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14.

"Help keep our community healthy and livable by responsibly collecting and disposing of leaves. Residents who clean up their leaves improve roadway safety, prevent flooding and protect the aquatic habitat," a city press release reads.

The Wilsonville government advises people to use large paper bags, which are recyclable. Public works employees will assist residents in dispensing the leaves and masks are required. Other yard debris will not be accepted.

The event is free but the city recommends people provide donations to Wilsonville Community Sharing, which runs the community food bank and provides economic relief for residents.
