The utility company's map shows more outages to the west and east of city proper

Portland General Electric reported Monday that 12 crews are in the Wilsonville area responding to power outages caused by last week's historic ice storm. However, the outages they're referring to appear to be outside of city proper.

According to the PGE map, there were 468 customers without power in the Sherwood area to the west of Wilsonville and 1,306 customers without power just to the east of Wilsonville in the West Linn area. According to PGE's website, Wilsonville's 97070 zip code had just one customer outage as of Feb. 22.

The utility company noted that it encountered several setbacks as it attempted power restoration over the past week. In multiple areas throughout the region, PGE was able to restore power to customers, but saw it go out again and had to return to those areas.

PGE's website noted that in Clackamas and Marion counties in particular, trees continuing to fall made restoration challenging.

"As we neared completion of restoring transmission lines to the areas reaching from Colton to North Marion to Salem to Oregon City, additional falling trees and limbs into those lines meant that the restoration efforts were impacted," PGE's website states.
