A 43-foot motorhome carrying a trailer caught on fire at the I-205 southbound ramp connecting to the I-5 southbound freeway north of Wilsonville Thursday morning, Oct. 7, causing the closure of two lanes for at least an hour.

Public Information Officer Tim Nokes said that at about 10:40 a.m., Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue received multiple calls about the engulfed motorhome, which was carrying an ATV and passenger vehicle. Multiple fire department units responded to the scene and water tenders were also brought because there were no fire hydrants nearby.

Two people were treated for smoke inhalation but both refused transport to the hospital. The cause of the fire was unknown, but it started in a rear engine compartment. The motorhome passengers were able to remove the ATV and passenger vehicle from the trailer before the fire department arrived, preserving both vehicles.
