St. Cyril's Catholic Church volunteers welcome the community to enjoy a meal for free.

Once again, St. Cyril's Catholic Church in Wilsonville will hand out full-course feasts to anyone in the community from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 25.

The event normally takes place in person at the church (at 9210 S.W. 5th St.) but will be pick-up only for the second year in a row due to the pandemic.

The menu includes roasted gravy with turkey, sausage stuffing mashed potatoes, sweet potato casserole, cranberries, vegetables and pie. The event is put on by church volunteers, who make the food out of the church's kitchen. Organizer Eileen Clarkson said the church served 280 meals last year and has already received reservations for 100 meals this year. To make a reservation, call Clarkson at 214-923-0745 or Joanie Kruse at 503-201-6990. However, they will provide meals to anyone as long as there is enough supply.

"We have the means to do it, the facilities and it seems like there is a need in the community," Clarkson said. "It's very fulfilling to know there is a need you're filling and getting that done. We love doing it."
