Citizens to advise project team developing a prioritized list of construction projects.

As county officials begin work on the Walk Bike Clackamas Plan, the Walk Bike Advisory Committee of community members and technical experts will advise and help oversee the work of the project team. County residents with an interest in pedestrian and bicycle travel — including people from underrepresented backgrounds and those who live in unincorporated areas of the county — are invited to apply to fill the 14 community slots on the committee.

Committee members will be expected to meet four times to review and provide feedback on issues related to health, equity and climate change to guide plan development.

Key outcomes are expected to include:

• Policy priorities related to biking and walking.

• A prioritized list of construction projects to make biking and walking safer and more accessible throughout unincorporated Clackamas County.

• A list of program investments to support active transportation by increasing access to pedestrian and bicycle facilities and encouraging more people to walk and bike.

• Performance measures to track progress toward plan implementation.

To be considered to serve on the committee, residents are asked to complete an application form and submit it no later than Monday, Aug. 15. Application forms are available online at clackamas.us/engineering/bikewalk.
