How do we support the arts in our community and how can we best mitigate the traffic problems on our streets?

Replies to last week's Question of the Week: "How can Wilsonville better support the arts?"

PAMPLIN MEDA GROUP FILE PHOTO - The arts are an important element in all communities. Johna Wakem-Shivers: Maybe middle school students should go as a field trip to see the district produced Middle School Musical each year. The high school students could get some kind of credit for attending high school produced theater shows to encourage them to experience it. Elementary schools could also have field trips to MS or HS age-appropriate theater productions...Fall production of "Little Mermaid" at WHS for example

Veronica Gillas:  Convince the WLWV School district to stop slashing arts budgets. Kids who aren't exposed to the arts won't develop an affinity for them later in life.

Ron DeLettera II: More frequent exposure for local artists, i.e. a First Thursday kind of program.

Elizabeth McCord: Incorporate art into the curriculum- Three Rivers Charter School has been able to do this well.

Andi Yates: Put an artist loft in the area for them to display and sell their creations

Ed O'Kernaughan: Community theatre. Theater in the park.

This week's question

"What do you think of the City of Wilsonville's traffic school concept; will it result in fewer traffic infractions?"
