Thompson for School Board
I am writing in support of Christy Thompson for School Board.
I have known Christy in several capacities in the community over the past few years, all of which are directly related to kids and school. She is a person of high integrity and intellect. When she speaks of her desire to create and support more open communication with families, faculty and staff in West Linn-Wilsonville School District, she means it. She leads with grace and has invested thousands of hours into volunteering and supporting our schools.
Christy Thompson's vision of reduced class sizes and increased access to mental health resources will benefit not only students, but also faculty and staff. In an age of high stress, anxiety and push to greater performance by our students, it is necessary for our district and its leaders to be mindful of how we support students and their families in reducing and responding to mental, physical and emotional health challenges.
Christy's desire to have more site council involvement and parental communication on curriculum choices is reinforced by her solid listening skills and ability to take action with the team of outstanding school board members that will best support or students.
