Term limits will open up Wilsonville area to development, crowding, according to letter writer

Gamba represents Oregonians

This coming May, Democratic voters in Clackamas County will have a choice between Mark Gamba and incumbent Rep. Kurt Schrader to represent Oregon's 5th U.S. Congressional District.

As mayor of Milwaukie, Gamba has made local solutions to the environmental and housing crises his top priorities, supports Medicare For All, and wants an end to big money in politics.

Schrader does not share these values, and (in the recent House vote for a $15 federal minimum wage) has even voted against them. He does not represent Oregonians and never has.

I believe Gamba will do far more to fight for us in Clackamas County and beyond. Therefore, I will vote for him in the May primary, and so should you!

Term limits not good for Wilsonville

I strongly urge readers to vote no on the measure that would, if approved, limit the number of terms two of our most experienced and knowledgeable current public officials, Mayor Tim Knapp and Councilor Charlotte Leha.

Both have been largely responsible for Wilsonville's "smart growth," with no local government experience or expertise.

This measure will be on the May ballot because a small group of critics and speculators paid crews of young people thousands of dollars to gather signatures on a petition that required the city to submit the measure to voters.

They couldn't defeat these two public officials at elections, so they bought the work of professional signature gatherers.

Why? The answers are potential financial gain and disagreement with the positive positions the Council has taken in recent years. They want fewer regulations that safeguard the great quality of life we have in Wilsonville. And they definitely want a larger, busier Aurora Airport. In fact, the biggest single contributor to the committee that funded the signature gatherers is a property holder at the airport who has big plans for the future.

I urge you to vote no and to tell your friends to vote NO.
