Kirsten Wyatt will bring hope, real experience to school board

Kirsten Wyatt is the kind of leader we need right now in our school district. Kirsten is a mother, government leader, civically engaged, and has unparalleled leadership skills. Skills like public engagement and outreach, a professional and personal commitment to DEI, and competency and expertise in budgets and financial reporting.

When facing unprecedented times having a leader like Kirsten step up for this very important role gives people in our community hope. Hope of competent leadership, hope that our students, staff, and teachers will be advocated for, hope that our district will manage our bond dollars well and modernize our facilities, and hope that a mom living this experience with us in real time can empathize with all our families in the community facing these same challenges.

Kirsten Wyatt is the Board Member we need right now with the hope and experience to lead our District forward. Vote Kirsten Wyatt for Position 3!

Shiratori is right choice for school board

As a candidate for West Linn-Wilsonville school board position 5, Seiji Shiratori brings numerous personal and professional strengths. I have had the pleasure of knowing Seiji's family for a couple of years through our synagogue. I have enjoyed getting to know him since he returned from his government service overseas and as he seeks a leadership position in our community. With two boys in the district's schools and as a Wilsonville homeowner, Seiji has "skin in the game" with respect to the product the district provides its families and community.

Seiji brings a great educational background to his candidacy: an undergraduate degree from Willamette University and a Master's Degree in international political economy from American University. His twenty-plus-year career for the foreign service has taken him all over the nation and world serving ambassadors and high-ranking military officers. His multicultural personal background and his unique lived experience make him the kind of person we need in district leadership as the student population grows and diversifies. He also brings professional budgeting skills that will help ensure that bond money on the district's capital projects is well-spent.

Please join me in supporting Seiji Shiratori for position 5 on the WLWV school board.

Shiratori will guide district forward

I endorse Seiji Shiratori for West Linn-Wilsonville school board position #5.

The COVID-19 pandemic has dramatically changed how we educate our children. The negative impact of these changes to the academic, social and mental well-being of many students is a significant concern for families and educators.

Seiji is well prepared to guide us forward. His long-standing career in public policy allows him to see the larger perspective and develop policy into results. Seiji's focus on a science-based approach to reopening schools will provide an informed path for students to safely return to five-day onsite schooling.

He has demonstrated his leadership, education and team approach and his commitment to our young citizens through his involvement in The Boy Scouts of America, holding several key positions.

As part of a multi-national, multi-ethnic family Seiji will bring his unique perspective to the school board as well his commitment to listen to and represent all voices. Finally, Seiji knows that quality schools produce productive and engaged citizens. These citizens can then support our strong vibrant communities.

Vote for Seiji Shiratori for WLWV school board. We need his leadership, vision and perspective during this critical junction for our local schools.
