Legislation would address gun violence epidemic
Gathering signatures to help Lift Every Voice Oregon put Initiative Petition 17 for gun safety on the November ballot has shown me that many people in Wilsonville want a public health approach to reducing gun violence. This critical piece of legislation would require a permit to purchase firearms including a completed background check and safety training in addition to limiting magazines to 10 rounds or less. These are pro-safety approaches to this gun violence epidemic. If enough registered Oregon voters sign Petition 17 by July 8, we can put gun safety on the November ballot for all Oregonians.
