Martha Spiers: County residents should help spread the word about the need for a contractor.

Clackamas Volunteers in Medicine (CVIM) provides free and inclusive primary care services to some of Clackamas County's most vulnerable (low-income and uninsured) residents. Our patients are typically working people who make too much to qualify for Medicaid, but not enough to purchase insurance.

In 2021, CVIM partnered with Clackamas Community College and Clackamas County to build a clinic on CCC's Oregon City campus. This project will provide CVIM with a new and expanded clinic while providing CCC's students the opportunity to gain practical experience as they train for health careers in nursing, medical assisting and phlebotomy.

Unfortunately, our project has experienced several setbacks, and we have been unable to find a general contractor to complete construction on our new facility. Today we are asking Clackamas County residents to help us continue our work by sharing this call to action with commercial general contractors who may be interested in partnering with us to complete construction on our clinic.

For contractors interested in this project, please see the solicitation bid at (solicitation number S-C01010-00003723, published July 8.)
