Junior playing major role for Bruins in inaugural season

Jessica Adrian hadn’t played much lacrosse since graduating from Wilsonville High School in 2011.

But when George Fox University started up a women’s program this Jessica Adrianspring, she couldn’t pass up the opportunity.

Through eight games, the 5-foot-8 attacker had amassed 18 goals and three assists as one of the most reliable contributors for the Bruins.

GFU, whose inaugural team is coached by former Oregon City star Natalie Harrington, currently holds a 3-5 record with wins over Linfield College, Southwestern (Texas) and Hope (Michigan).

Adrian had a goal and an assist in the Bruins’ first-ever victory, a 15-4 triumph over Linfield on March 5 in McMinnville.

George Fox has four games remaining on its schedule, including an April 8 date with Linfield in Newberg. The game is scheduled to start at 5 p.m.
