Harms picked up her second Liberty League award with the Pitcher of the Week recognition

COURTESY PHOTO - Harms was named the Liberty Leagues Pitcher of the Week for her work from the mound. TROY, NY (04/10/2018)-- Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) student-athlete Sarah Harms of Wilsonville 97070 has been recognized by the Liberty League with a weekly conference award.

Harms was named the Pitcher of the Week after she threw 13.0 innings over three appearances with a 0.00 ERA and 2-1 record. The senior, a civil engineering masters student, combined for seven strikeouts while holding her opponents to a .209 batting average and one complete shutout. Harms' game of the week came in a 9-0 win over rival Union. The ace held her competition to a mere two hits with five strikeouts over six innings of play against 20 batters faced. Harms' season ERA dropped to a 1.31. She only gave up one unearned in a 6-1 win over Ithaca. Harms' 1.31 season ERA is aided by 32 strikeouts on the year. Her 9-3 record has been achieved over 58.2 innings while holding her opponents to a .222 batting average. The senior currently leads the Liberty League in ERA and wins over conference play.

RPI currently tops the Liberty League with a 3-1 conference record. The Engineers, who are 13-5 overall, take a break from conference play tomorrow as Rensselaer travels to Williams for a double header beginning at 3:30pm.
