"Good to get the first game in the books," head coach Adam Guenther said. "The boys played well but there is still a lot we can still work on. We're looking forward to get back at it this week."

Offensively, the team put up big numbers. The team put up 585 yards of total offense, with 436 yards coming through the air from senior quarterback Nathan Overholt. Seniors Sam Westing and Isaiah Haqq had two touchdowns a piece, while fellow seniors Jonah Gomez and Trevor Antonson also had a touchdown each.

There was only one Wilsonville rushing touchdown scored in the game, courtesy of Antonson. The team will get another chance to put up impressive numbers this Friday when they square off against last year's state finalist Churchill (1-0) on Sept. 7. Churchill started its season with a 42-23 drubbing of Thurston.

"Churchill is a good team and we look forward to the opportunity to play such talent," Guenther said. "If people want to see great high school football they need to make their way to Randall Stadium on Friday night."
