PMG FILE PHOTO: TANNER RUSS - Wilsonville boys lacrosse team picked up steam heading into it's first league game. Wilsonville's boys lacrosse team found itself in the midst of a nice little run heading into the first league contest against Tualatin on Friday, April 19. The team racked up a 4-1 record in

its past five games, trouncing Churchill, Forest Grove, Century and Hillsboro in that time. The lone loss came against Aloha in a

20-16 defeat Thursday, April 4.

The introduction to the Northwest Conference play was not kind to the Wildcats though. Against Tualatin, Wilsonville suffered its most lopsided loss of the season, 17-2. Tualatin extended its win streak to six games, and moves on to face La Salle in its next contest.

Wilsonville, likewise, will face off with La Salle (5-4) in its next game, this one on Tuesday, April 23.

The girls lacrosse team lost a pair of games last week, continuing to struggle in the 2019 season. Against Lakeridge on Monday, April 15, the team lost 12-10. On Friday, April 19, the Wildcats lost 19-6.

Against Lakeridge, Brooklyne Waddell had four goals on six shots, and led the team with four goals against Oregon City also. Avery Lanz had three goals on four attempts against Lakeridge. Lanz also won 10 draw controls for her squad, and scooped up six groundballs to boot.

Wilsonville will look to shake its slump against St. Mary's Academy on April 25 at Buckman Field in Portland. PMG FILE PHOTO: TANNER RUSS - Ellie Grano drives to the net.
