Two more Wildcats have made the leap into the next echelon of athletic competition.
Seniors Nolan Thebiay and Trevor Antonson signed letters of intent to play baseball at the college level on Tuesday, June 4.
Thebiay signed with Montana State University Billings for the upcoming school year, and Antonson with Seattle University.
The duo were on an incredibly successful Wilsonville team this past season, one that put together a 19-9 overall record, and a 15-3 Northwest Oregon Conference (NWOC) run. While they were ultimately ousted from the playoffs by Pendleton in a close 4-3 loss on May 22, it's hard to view the season as anything but successful.
Thebiay will join a Division II team that put together a strong showing in the 2019 season, racking up a 33-20 record, and a 30-10 conference record to claim the Great Northwest Athletic Conference (GNAC) championship.
The Billings-based ball club was booted from the NCAA west region championships by Point Loma Nazarene, and dropped a subsequent contest to UC San Diego.
Antonson, the Northwest Oregon Conference (NWOC) player of the year, joins a team that struggled this past year in the Seattle University Redhawks. The Redhawks went 13-39 overall, and posted an 8-19 record in the Western Athletic Conference (WAC). The Division I team stumbled after a strong showing last year where it finished with a 34-23 record, and will look to rebound next year.
