Wilsonville quartet competes at Les Schwab Bowl
In their final game as high school athletes, Wilsonville graduates Nathan Overholt, Cade Edmondson, Jonah Gomez, and Trevor Antonson competed in the Les Schwab Bowl for the South Team on Saturday, June 15. The South team was able to beat the North, winning 33-28 in regulation.
It was a solid showing from the former Wildcat. Overholt threw 8-of-18 for a pair of touchdowns and 158 yards, connecting on a long pass of 59 yards.
The South came out strong in the first and third quarters, putting up 20 points in the first stanza and 13 in the third. The North scored consistently throughout the contest, a touchdown in each quarter, but it wasn't enough.
Overholt's scoring for the day came after Trevor Antonson intercepted North quarterback Jackson Laurent at the 34-yard line. The former Wilsonville quarterback connected on a pass up the left side of the field to Noah Page for a 34-yard touchdown pass. His second touchdown of the day came in the third quarter at 2:44, connecting on a 59-yard pass to Forrest Love to push the score up to 33.
Edmondson had a pair of tackles on the day. Gomez, Wilsonville's top receiver during the regular season, had a quiet day at the Bowl with no receptions and no yardage.
